They are both played with a ball. They are both played on grass. They both have teams of 11. They are the two most watched sports in the world. In both of them you can kick the ball between the poles to get points.

A lot. American Football is really boring and does not have much to do with playing with your foot. Besides, all around the world football is soccer and everybody calls it american football over there.

Well they are not, soccer is called football in england, soccer is the name given to that sport in America. You wear the same shoes for both of the sports, both played on grass.

In football, after making a touchdown, the opposite team kicks the football as in soccer, you also kick the ball. That's the closest I can get to.
