ok so my knee has been bothering me for about a month now and it hasn't gotten better, it's gotten worse. It started out with just having pain when standing up from a squatting position. Now i'm having pain when my knee is bent like sitting indian style and something touches the outside upper half of the knee. anyone ever had this problem.

I had something almost exactly like that. I ended up having to get xrays and stuff. Ends up that I had torn my meniscus. That is the cushion stuff underneath your kneecap. When it tears, your kneecap is rubbing against your bone so it hurts. I still suggest you see a doctor and figure out exactly what's wrong but the only way I was told to solve my problem was to quit playing my sports and do nothing for like 9 months. It was terrible but my knees are totally better now. But DO see a doctor because if you have something different it could get a lot worse and you can end up not being able to walk again and having permanent damage. . . that's what my doctor said...always see a doctor especially with knee problems they can cause the most long term damage.

I haven’t had that specific problem, but recently I had a mildly serious knee injury. Not being a big fan of doctors, I refrained from going for 1 and a half weeks. When I realized I wasn’t getting better and went, I had to get an immediately MRI and almost had to have surgery. My doctor (who actually was the same doctor who worked on Brian McBride, ironically enough) told me that if you wait out a knee injury long enough, it could become quickly deformed. So the moral of this story: either go see a doctor, or call one and see if you need to go in. Its just not worth waiting (trust me).

I have had similar pain. It is probably a meniscus or articular cartilage damage. Go to an orthopedic doc and get X Rays and a MRI. The MRI is most important because cartilage damage is difficult to see on X Rays. Cartilage cannot regenerate so if it is damaged, it is best to get it fixed ASAP, because the longer you wait, the more damaged it will get and the more extensive the treatment for it will be. (I am currently recovering from a cartilage transplant and trust me you do not want to have this done.) Good luck!
