To forgive them for being the cause of our own.
Why?
Because when you have to forgive someone for making a mistake towards us, it will always be them who made that mistake. It will always stay that way. So even if you forgive them or not, you will be able to move on knowing that it wasn't you who did it. Now, if you made a mistake because of someone ELSE, that really sucks. Its kinda telling you that it's their fault for being the cause of it, but it's also your fault for...actually acting on the mistake. :[
I don't know. I just say I would feel like an idiot if I made a mistake that I couldn't exactly blame on someone else, because I did it, even though they were the cause.

It is hard to forgive others when they have had anything to do with things that hurt us. It takes a lot of strength to forgive someone who has made a mistake against us--but a whole lot of courage and extra strength to forgive someone who has caused us the damage.

This seems like a trick question.
I forgive a person for the mistakes they make toward me.
Then I have to forgive myself for allowing that mistake to cause me to do the same.
It was my decision to make a mistake from what they did.

The latter. I can always forgive someone for making me be foolish the first time, but the second time no. Then they are a creature of habit and we need to separate and have nothing else to do with each other.

Forgiveness is so hard especilly with people that have been repeatably out to get us. Forgive yes but many times common sense would tell us to stay away from them. It would be insane to keep setting ourselves up for more slams.

Other people don't cause you to make mistakes. We make mistakes on our own. The sooner you realize that, the happier you'll be.

An important step in the quest for understanding is to realize that no one but yourself is responsible for your actions. Your expectations are the source of your disappointments. So, in this view only yourself is the source of your errors.

Ah, I had to read three times to understand it =)

I think the first one is, because I think the mistakes I make are my fault and my fault alone.
