They are NOT the same. Lucas is much like a carb/injector cleaner like berrymans b-12. Seafoam is a de-carbonizer that cleans and desolves carbon build up. Sea-foam works best by pouring 1/3 to 1/2 can into carb or intake slowly while manually throttling car up until the engine dies. let it set for 15 mins. then start it . it will smoke like crazy for a couple of blocks but preformance will improve before your very eyes.

If you read the cans, they have about the same ingredients, and Seafoam only runs about $5 a can. I use Seafoam in the fuel every second fill up, and to the oil about once a month. Several friend mechanics swear by it. I only know I got a good strong 236,000 miles out of a Chevrolet 454 using it. Now the engine is being replaced because the cams went flat on me, and I intend to keep using it in the new crate motor that's going in the tow truck as we speak.
Keep in mind the amount of time a tow truck idles, so the engine hours would probably be twice as much as the mileage would indicate.

Either one is excellent as a fuel additive. Sea foam can be used all over the car though, It can be added to the oil, or straight into the throttle body or carb and can also be sucked through a vacuum line to clean the inside of your intake manifold. If it is used in the throttle body or vacuum system you have to change the spark plugs because all the debris that it sends through will ruin your spark plugs. Hope I have been helpful.
