Ever since J.K Rowling told us a hint of the next two characters to die. She actually said to a newspaper that a "Mary Jane" character was going to die. Now we understand that Mary Jane means simple, plain, really smart and has close relations to the main character does this mean Hermione, or maybe even Ginny may have a death in the book?

In my opinion, I have a feeling that it would be Ginny. I am unfortunatly a shipper of the two but the best way "if" Harry Potter were to die, would be to kill the crush he has on.

All you Harry/Hermione shippers may argue but in the sixth book the fact that more than one occasion he has hinted the crush and that Ginny doesn't have boyfriend anymore has caused my resoultion. ((Will look for evidence later...))

So who do you think is the Mary Jane and do you agree with me? ((Freedom of Choice here!))

To Marcela A: Well, that could be true, I haven't really thought of all aspects of the fact that Cho Chang is still around but she really does not appear much in the sixth and Harry starts to fall away after the fifth book about his relationship with Cho. If I am correct at the end, he does talk about how girls' are confusing. This I suppose would be Cho's Relationship with Harry.

Luna Lovegood? She instant really a real love interest to Harry, though everyone loves her as a friend. Harry believes that she is extremely odd, but is glad that she is supported of him. You know the article about Harry's experience with Voldemort, but that's it. There is no lovey-dovey in that relationship.

I am sure when they say 'Mary Jane' they're not refrencing to Spider Man (?). I'm posistive that well Harry does infact have a crush on Ginny he's closer to Hermione because he's known her longer and she's like a sister. I think it would be interesting to kill her and that she's probably it.

I've thought for a long time Hermione was going to die in the last book. Don't know why. But I'd never heard the Mary Jane comment until now. That cements it for me.

Voldemort will go for the one closest to Harry. I think it will be Ginny. Hermione is a good friend, but Harry has more emotional ties with Ginny.

I think the two characters you mentioned are NOT the Mary Jane character. 'Mary Jane' refers to a love interest that is unrequited for the the majority of the story. So dig this: Harry was in love with Cho Chang for like, ever. Maybe in this book, their relationship is cemented (ah-hem) and then she is killed and/or dies.

The characters name is LUNA LOVEGOOD. She is supposed to be a love interest for Harry and good friends with everyone but is only slated for the next 2 movies and not the last one.

"Mary Jane" could be refering to Spider-man's "Mary Jane." The one true love of Harry Potter? The one character everybody wants him to be with in the end?

It could be Hermione or it could be Ginny, but my guess is its going to be Haggrad (more plutonic, obviously), the one who saved him from a life of misery with the Dersleys. I mean, you can't ignore the special bond between Harry and everybody's favorite giant.
