If the world was created 5 minutes ago we would have no knowledge. Our memories, intentions, hopes and desires would seem organic, but they would all be accidentally connected, and so no reference or meaning could be made by the very sentence "the world was created 5 minutes ago".

Which just broadens the skeptical hypothesis: we not only don't know, because we can't rule out the incompatible possibility that the world popped into existence accidentally, but we can't be certain our words refer.

But how is this claim even intelligible? What kind of real world are we talking about? If this world was made in an instant, do I have any right to talk about the world outside my world? I am not causally connected to that place at all.

And insofar as direct perception has any merit, the world that I inhabit, even if 'virtual' from some alien perspective I am not privy to, the world that I engage with, see, and know factively is empirically real.

Your question could be asking either of two things. What is the meaning of time? OR What is the nature of "reality"?
"Time" is a concept manufactured by humanity based on the physical movements of objects through what we call "space" For instance, the earth rotates on its axis, and one total rotation is called a "day". This "day" in then mathematically divided again and again into hours, minutes, and seconds. The earth moves in a rotation around our sun which in turn is divided into months and totals a year. These divisions of the earths movement are what we have named "time". So....5 minutes is just a wiggle of our planet in the universe. If you are asking then instead about "reality" you must realize that your "reality" is nothing but the sum of your perceptions. Reality is determined by what you see, feel, hear, taste, smell, and sense. The answer to your question is that only HERE/NOW exists.

I read a book called the science of religion, and it had a chapter on time. Apparently, time passes at different rates in different places. This is due to distance, mass and gravitational pull. The book's argument was that it was completely plausible to witness the birth of the entire universe in 7 days, depending on your viewpoint in the universe. Also take a look at the Twins Paradox, its pretty ridiculous stuff.

i think of that that's a daft philosophical place. yet not greater ridiculous than thinking that God created the universe in considered one of those way that it has each and every visual attraction of being a number of billion years previous - mutually as being purely some thousand. that's a place that assumes that reason and objectivity can let us know no longer something genuine approximately our environment. provided that God would have made it seem any way he needed it it to. it might additionally recommend that God is a liar.

You don't and you also don't know if the world is gonna end five minutes from now. Or maybe it already ended and you're living in you own illusion of life.

Any one of us out here couldn't tell you
how YOU would know anything at all !!
We not only don't really know YOU , so,
explaining the workings of YOUR mind to YOU
would be a lost cause for any of us !!

My suggestion would be to take this question to a qualified professional and let THEM have a shot at it ---they could probably give you some great input on that and all the other
