Hi, i would recommend upgrading to 2.8ghz, it is currently the most cost effective.if you dont want to pay for dual core.

Apart from games which need higher processing power, it is needed for equations, or processing large databases. Also things like un-raring files will be faster, generally any process you do. As long as you have the required memory, higher ghz will suffer without sufficient ram, i would recommend 1gb of ram at least if you already have that, that is fine.

email me if more help is needed.

There will be some difference, but not a lot. The reason being is that both of those chips are becoming outdated, so you will be going from slow to less slow. But there will be a difference, and it will generally affect almost all aspects of the computers performance.

There will be a bit of a difference but you will really notice it if you go to a 3 gig and increase your ram. your computer will not hang so often and will process stuff quicker. However going to 3 gig will probably mean a new motherboard.

The only real difference is that your computer will run much faster, and not freeze up as much.
