January is a wonderful month to go to Cancun....weather is great...might have some showers a few days, but great. I spent the month down there this January...it was 91 degrees when I left the airport. I would love to help you plan your trip..sunsationvacations@yahoo.com. January is a great time to visit Cancun! The weather is great, even better if you're leaving from a snowy area!
Definately see the Mayan Ruins, go snorkeling or scuba diving, trip to Cozumel, and all the bars are fun. They love Americans!

January isn't a bad month. It's nice and warm in Cancun all year. It may be busy. Jan -- March is peak season for snowbirds. You should take a tour and see some Mayan ruins nearby. The ferry to Cozumel is a great side trip also.

Cancun is great! I have been 3 times now. You have to visit Xel-Ha, Isla de Mujeras is also nice, if you want to experience true mexican tradition every wednesday there is a bull fight at Plaza De Torros. It is 35 dollars to go. Dont take the taxis they are too much money. The bus is the best way to go. If you like adventure Coba, my husband said it was amazing, I didnt get to go I was 7 months pregnant. sure you can. Get a good guide book like the Lonely Planet. Expect to get pulled over and "fined" for speeding or whatever. Just smile and pay up. Sometimes you can bargain a little. But if you get up the nerve to fly, Cancun is one of the cheapest flights to Mexico or to get close to Central America. Fly there and then take the buses soputh for some great adventuires in Guatemala, Belize and Honduras.

Actually, my hubby and I just went in January. The weather was perfect!! I would really suggest going to Isla Mujerhes. We took a party boat over and spent the day! It was a blast!!
We went to a bullfight, very interesting, but sad. We also went to some Mayan Ruins, and went jet skiing. Best trip I have ever taken!!

i have traveled to cancun in january and the weather was great! There is so much to see like xcaret, xel-ha, the mayan ruins, and if you like shopping make sure to visit Playa del carmen. Have a great trip!

No, too many tourists get robbed and killed or wounded, you can't drink the water, have ice cubes in your drinks, or eat the salad, or eat anything that's not cooked unless you want to end up with hep a or b. Don't you listen to the news, five police and two office workers got killed two weeks ago. So I ask you what kind of holiday is that where your safety is in question and eating the food and drinking the water puts your health at risk. Try Cuba its a lot safer, you can eat the food and drink the water and no one is going to kill or rob you. That's as honest as I can be. Have a good trip.

You probably want to go on July it will be a great month the weather will be great and sunny!

You might want to consider Acapulco located in Mexico also.
