I need to let my tank set up after a 100% water change and I need somewhere to put my two small corys. Would it be ok to put them with my roommates 5 gallon tank with 2 african cichlids? the Cichlids are about 2-3 inches while my corys are maybe 3/4 of an inch

African cichlids are mean, bottom dwelling, territorial fish. The corys, also bottom dwellers, will be seen as invading the cichlids' territory because the cichlids have been living in the tank and established boundaries. The corys, shy little fish, will have no where to go and may be killed within hours of placing them in a tank that small with cichlids who view the tank as "theirs."
That said, why did you do a 100% water change? Once a tank is set up and running well you should never tear it down. Many of my tanks have been up for more than 6 years with nothing more than weekly partial (25-30%) water changes to keep the ammonia, nitrites and nitrates low.
A 5 gallon tank is way too small for anything more than one dwarf cichlid or a couple of the Tanganyikan shell dwellers (very small). Unless his two cichlids are a compatible pair, one will eventually become dominant and harass the other to death.

As the other poster suggested, it is hard to tell without knowing what kind of cichlids you have. Are they african cichlids, south american cichlids? Are they Mbuna or Haps. Are the 4 you have the same kind? or are they different species? What is your ratio of male to female? All of this information would be necessary before we could answer your question. One thing you should know is that African Cichlids (and most Cichlids for that matter) are very territorial. In smaller tanks under 55 gallons it is very hard to add new fish once the tank is established.

No, that tank is already overcrowded. The cichlids should be kept in a tank of 20 gallons or bigger. The 2 corys can be put with any fish in the appropriate sized tank.

5 gallon tank no just one african chiclid would need a 15 gallon at the least but if they go a bigger tank that should be fine you need about a 29 gallon for these 4 fish ! Atleast! Hope I helped !

Probably OK,but I don't think it's a good idea to keep Africans in a tank that small. To keep them healthy daily water changes must be necessary.

yeah may be Ok, but it depends on the Africans. They could take a pretty bad beating. I would watch them close.
