In 2006 he placed loyalty to himself above the Democratic party and his actions cost their Candidate his chance. Winning as an independent with the help of the Fox hate network (Hannity and Coulter) and financial backing from International corporate lobbyists, the neo-cons and the Republican party.
This is politically consist as the first time he won a seat in congress was with money and backing from William F. Buckley and right-wing Cuban exiles.
One wonders why by his congressial voting record does he call himself a Democrat ... as he fawns and drools all over those insane all ready drank the Kool-aid neo-cons currently in the white house.
A true turncoat joe actively supports bush's regressive energy bill, tax plans, and judicial nominations and all attacks on our Bill of Rights.
His active support of torture, domestic spying, the subversion of Habeas Corpus and Posse Comitatus reveals that he is not in any way faithful to the Constitution of the United States.

In an way that would have fit in with Stalin’s version of communism Lieberman with Lynne Cheney co-founded the American Council of Trustees and Alumni whose sole purpose is to attack any leftist dissident educators, giving themselves the right to decide what was and wasn't appropriate patriotism when educators and schools explored key public issues.
His habitual pattern of voting is for any war or military action in the middle east (against arabs and people of color?) And, his constant objections to the USA even starting talks with Iran in order to prevent future war or to help clear away some of the deadly and devastating mess bush-cheney-lieberman’s war policies have caused America, Iraq and the world reveals where his true loyalties reside.
Could it be his dual citizenship (Israel)? That while they are costly in American lives, money and political clout .... all of his actions do serve the military agendas of the neo-conservative party in the state of Israel?.

I have nothing against multiculturalism or an individual standing up for their beliefs and loyalties. This is a question about the threat the USA faces by having leaders in places of power whose actions tend to indicate their main loyalties maybe for a totally other nation or cause.
I am not against dual citizenship I just do not see the wisdom of allowing those who have divided loyalties to serve in public office or have occupy a place of influence on our leaders.

His #1 loyality is his faith and protecting the holy land at all costs even if he has to use the entire US military in the Mideast to do it.

So Fox and its huge republican bias was able to sway the heavily democratic voters of Connecticut? I never realized Sean Hannity was so big there.
I have a different scenario, the regular voters don't take midterms seriously and moveon.org had a midterm blitz at the polls, the older democrat guard realized the worst candidate was about to get in and approached Mr Lieberman to run independent and pro war, where he won the voters and the election. When the voters saw that this election really mattered they mobilized beating Lemont. I guess moveon doesn't carry the weight it thinks it does.
I find it funny that Mr Lieberman votes against party lines only 10% of the time, pretty much less than most other congressmen. But for some reason he is against the party now. Connecticut got the better man anyhow.

Isn't it great! Truly, I mean it! It is short of fantastic! Oh, it is difficult for us to stomach sometimes, but the reality of it is, it is one of the wonders of our country. God Bless our founding fathers.
Yep, you are able to come on here and post innuendo after innuendo that actually borders on lies. Now, I am not so sure of the slander or libel, you may be held accountable for that, but no one can deny your right to be wrong and espouse that wrong all over the world, even intentionally. Please go in peace and may you find some comfort in your distorted ranting.

nice spin however the truth is that the Dem's kicked him out for his wanting what was best for the country. Notice how they throw people under the bus when your not on their side (one of you actually called him a traitor) yet the reps have people like Hagel, Warner and especially Spector who dont toe party lines and they are not shunned.... interesting

You're not being fair.
I've lived in Connecticut for 30 years and I know Joe pretty well (not personally) and I belelve he is one of the few honest polititions in Washington. I disagree with his stand on the war, but on most other issues he is reliably in the democratic camp.
While I disagree with him on the war, I respect the fact he is standing up forhis beliefes and not trying to hide.

Contrary to your closed-minded bigotry, not all American Jews, even those in power, support Israel OVER their own country. Lieberman's loyalties lie with the citizens of the State of Connecticut who sent him to Washington, not to the party elite who screwed him over for daring to disagreeing with them.

His loyalty lies with America.
Why is that so difficult for you to see?
Because he will not support your "turn and run" philosophy?
He wants what is best for our country NOT what is best for his political career...it is so sad that such a refreshing change would be viewed as a negative quality or trait.
I always thought dems wanted what was best for the people as a whole, but individuals like yourself prove me wrong every single day! Thank you for the ammunition.
