First of all, makeup is part of fashion. it helps create the look. So DO try to get a job at a makeup counter. selling what you will soon be creating helps a lot in the future. Second, find out where the closest beauty school is. most of the time cosmotology focuses more on the hair and nails. but it's better to be doing things one at a time. Third, read vogue, cosmo, etc. studying fashion gives inspiration to what you're creating with the face.

Go to a beauty school, and learn from the start, working at a counter only make you a sale person, not a artist (you can do this when you are in school, just to earn some experience).
First step, search for a school.

You should try to find a cosmetology school in your area.
