Yes you need to file a tax return. You also need to file a final return for your father.
I'm assuming your father left the house to you via a will or trust. Talk to the attorney who handled the probate on your fathers estate. He should be handling the final tax return and give you advice on what you need to do in the future.

Hello, since you are on Social Security you need to contact your local office and speak to your caseworker that is handling your file. In some cases one whom is on Disability or SSI does NOT have to file for taxes UNLESS they are receiving extra income over the allotted amount. Did you receive any forms from your SS office regarding "filing taxes"? I'm asking because I did and on this letter it will state if you have to file or not. In my case I didn't have to.Now if your father had passed back in Sept.06 and left you an inheritance and also a van you will need to report that to your SS office as soon as possible since they record any extra income that you had received in that time frame. They might cut your SSI payments for a short term but at least you wouldn't be commiting any fraudulent acts. It's better to be safe then sorry later. Now in some cases SSI doesn't count your house or your vehicle for income if you had both prior to receiving your benefits. But again if you inherited these items from your fathers estate then the SS office might take these items against your claim. Your best bet is to call your local office and let them know. Your fathers taxes have nothing to do with your disibility claim but his inheritance to you will. Hope this has helped.

The letters that I have gotten from social security say that if my income is over $25,000 that I do have to do my taxes but if it is not then I do not. I am also on disability. Since your father died you might call social security the number is 800-772-1213 and find out if your inheritance is taxable or not.

If you have reportable income then yes you have to file. Being deaf, disabled, etc... has nothing to do with it. You may even have a refund coming.

You business enterprise is likely withholding (except you're no longer 'on the books) based on the style W4 you crammed out. in case you worked all this time and did no longer have money withheld, you're in for a huge marvel - as you may desire to owe plenty at as quickly as. Being sixteen and having those smaller jobs, you likely do no longer make sufficient to would desire to pay, yet you nevertheless would desire to report.

Yep, you file. It does not mean you'll have to pay any taxes, but you better be safe and YAC than sorry.
If they don't want you to file in later years, they'll let you know.
