to lesson the harshness of it. If all gays called each other "queer", that's okay. they love who they are, and they don't like the bad that comes with people hating them. sorry if i couldn't explain it right. i tried. it's not a good word anyway :(

I guess majority rules. I know a lot of black people that don't use the word and don't like it when others use it but most black people use it. I think they don't understand how bad it is. I'm from New York and I see it used as a greeting from Asian to White, White to Black, Black to White, Asian to Black, etc. I know that they mean no harm but it makes people like u wonder.

yeah i know i'm not black but i see a question like this what do you want me to do, listen? anyway it's the intent behind it if another black fella says it doesn't mean anything you know why? 'cause he's black, it doesn't mean anything. however when we of the paler variety say it more often then not they're running around looking like albino lawn darts burning crap maybe sometime in the future it won't be such a big deal but while folks are still pulled over just because they "fit the description" i figure it's still a sore spot but by all means go ahead call someone that then your next question might be "what does solid food taste like?" bye bye

I've heard some blacks say that we as a race have reclaimed the word. In other words taking a negative (ending in "er") and turning it into a term of endearment within the black community (ending in "a").
Honestly though, I believe that's a dumb idea. Because then we go into the argument of not wanting whites to use the word and then it turns into a sticky racial mess.
A word with that much negative history and force behind it should not be used in any connotation by any race, no matter what the spelling period.

that is because there are many more beneficial white people than black people in u . s . of america. so as that signifies that regardless of if some white people like Lupe Fiasco or another black artist given the tremendous type of white people there are going to nonetheless be dissimilar white people at that live performance.

That's only on TV, comedy, in music, or among some young kids/teens who want to be "cool."
I don't think most black people say "****.a, nigge*r, or ******"
