There are much worst things than Disney, it's true. But all their shows are corny, lame, stereotypical, and fake! On That's So Raven, the main male African-American character (Eddie) is a basketball player and a rapper. The white girl main character (Chelsea) is a namby-pamby vegetarian tree-hugger goody-two-shoes with no brain. (I like her enough, besides the no-brain part.) Isn't this a little racist?

It has definitely changed since I watched it when I was younger. (I'm 27 now). All they show is 30 minute sitcoms pretty much and maybe once or twice a week a crappy movie that looks like the crappy sitcoms. When I watched it as a child they showed things like old Mickey Mouse cartoons, Shirley Temple movies, Mickey Mouse club (Britney & Christina version as well as the old Annette Funicello versions). They also showed movies like Pollyanna and the ORIGINAL Shaggy Dog, Freaky Friday, and Parent Trap. Later at night (say 8 o'clock) they showed old Bette Davis movies and things like those old Nature films that Walt Disney would narrate. It's just not good TV anymore. I understand that these are all old shows, but hell they were GOOD and that is what set Disney apart from everyone else. Now it's just a bunch of crap that you can get anywhere.

I think some shows are good, but others suck. Most of the actors are pretty good, but I think High School Musical is WAAAAAAY overrated! I HATE Zac Efron! *Barfs* So many of the High School Musical cast people are becoming big stars (Ashley Tisdale, Zac Efron, Vannessa Hudgens, etc). It's good for kids ages 5-12 or something...
Disney Channel is taking over the world! The song "Push It To The Limit' is on the top 100 most bought songs on Itunes, and for a couple of days it was number one. They're selling High School Musical and Hannah Montana clothes. They're making Disney channel books, too. On the cover of Girls Life magazine for this month were the "Cheetah Girls" and for the GL cutie, it was Corbin Bleu. Eeeeeeeewwwwwwww! HELP ME!

I think it's alright-wish when we were little kids we had so many different options-we had cartoons on saturday and that was it!!! maybe having so many things to "watch" takes slowly away from the imagination of the kids...my 3 year old does pretty good imagining but my 13 year old...it's a different story he kinda' like has little or no imagination he's been that way for a long time it's like they forget how to make things FUN...

yeah okay, you could say taht. but just to play devils advocate, disney channel is pushing at teaching younger kids a lesson. maybe the point of having people with different backgrounds as best friends is to show that diversity is good.
personally, i'm still one of those grown up girls who still watches disney channel when there's nothing on tv.
i don't think they intentionally made it so that the black guy plays basketball, because then you could come up with so many stereotypes that disney channel didn't even think to make.
all of their shows have a point, they're all supposed to teach children the moral of different lessons. i don't think they're trying to hurt anyone...

It is pathetic television with not educational purpose. In my view all of their shows are simply teenage soap operas, with little plot. Sadly, many kids and teenagers watch their shows, so the producers continue to make shows like that, but the shows are absolutely pointless.

I don't like mostly because it's taking up television space, but at least their show's plots are a bit more complex than cartoon network's. I feel 35 IQ points stupider when I watch it!

What a fine waste of a question.
I like Disney. It amuses me, and nothing more. Nickelodeon is better, though.
