I'm thinking of buying an Apple iPod 30 GIG Video soon. Are they really worth the hype, or should I buy a different brand of mp3 player instead, like, say, Creative?

I personally have a Creative Vision: M 30 GB. And it works great. i recommend that one. With an Apple Ipod you have to use Itunes or burn a CD. But then you have to type in the name of a song. Its not worth it. I also use frostwire which is free and it works very well with my Creative.

i have a 30gb ipod video, and i love it. it's true you might be able to get the same quality from something that's less expensive, but everything now is created almost exclusively for ipod. it's just a lot easier to buy accessories for it than any of the other players. for me, it's worth the extra money.

i've used itunes even before i had an ipod, though, so that wasn't a problem for me. i know people who don't want to start using itunes, and therefore they won't buy an ipod, but if you search around on the internet, you can find some hacks for your ipod where you can use other media players to add music without having to use itunes.

it all depends on what you want to do with the computer. personally, im a film major and use a lot of those programs apple makes. i still like microsoft office, so i got it when i got my mac. i love my mac. i got a mac book pro and its a bigger laptop and a little more sophisticated then the regular macbook. id stay away from the macbook air, though, the reason its so thin is because it doesnt have many of the features a regular laptop would have. but really, it all depends on what your going to do with this computer. go to an apple store and talk with one of the mac geniuses or something-they should be able to help you out, especially with the more technical differences between mac and windows hope that helps

It really depends on what type of music and how much of it you have. If you don't have videos, than there is no need to purchase a video pod, and if you have less than 1,000 songs, you don't need 30GB to work with. However, if one or more of the previous things are true, than YES, ipods (especially video ipods) are definitely worth the money.

It's worth it only if you're willing to part with the cash. Personally, I don't believe it's worth it, but to each his own.
