It's totally racist how they hype up an assist. Most white guys are not scorers so that's the only way a white guy could look good. For example, Steve Nash, he leads the league in assist and all of a sudden he's a great player, that's bull! All Nash does is find the open man and takes credit for someone else talent. It's the BROTHAS on his team who's making them shots go in, not Nash! An assist has to depend on good talent around it, and Nash got alot of talented finishers on his team. The real MVP & best player on that team is Amara. The first year Nash got it Amara was dominating, Nash numbers couldn't match Amara's, but what they did is what they've always been doing in everything for years, and that's take it from THE BLACK MAN! The BLACK MAN can't have nothing! Nash is okay at scoring & sucks on defense, how he's an MVP? Because he's WHITE! Mark Jackson was great at assist(2nd all-time to Stockton), and I never saw him with MVP's or get props like Nash & Stockton.

well actually assists are very vital to a game. u dont always need to sink the ball in the net. and there are many teams with really tight defenses and u need a good point guard to give the ball at the right time without it getting deflected. and the NBA has more than enough black players who were MVPs. There were All star point guards such as Walt Fraizer, Gary Payton, Chauncey Billups, and Magic Johnson were excellent assistors. Gilbert Arenas, Tony Parker, Jason Kidd, Kirk Hinrich once again Chauncey Billups are really good players. And you should see the passes Steve Nash makes, they are very quick and undetectable. and just so u know the Suns lost against the Hawks without the help of Nash. So u can see how valuable he is.

First off its Amare, how can you not know that if he is the real MVP? He is awesome, I'm not trying to knock him, but he played like 4 games last year so there is no way he is MVP or irreplacable. Sure some assists are easy to come by, but if it's so easy how come people don't get more. Nash is vitale because he gets the other players open, and he can create shots for himself if need be. Just look at the suns before Nash got there and the Suns now, you cannot deny they are better. If Nash isn't MVP who is? Shaq barely plays half of the games. You could make a case for Wade now. Dirk, well he's white so you wouldn't like that either but he's my vote. Garnett, maybe if his team could win. Jason Kidd, I think he could get it this year. Sorry assists are not racist in any way (unlike you apparently) and they are a vital stat to see who can create scoring opportunities for their team.

You're an idiot. I'd love to know if you play the game or even if you did at what level. Im black and I played college ball.

FIrst of all, Magic led the league in assists for YEARS in the 80's.
Second, PHX is a 6-7 seed w/o Nash and 1-2 seed with him.
3. Mark Jackson?? Riiight.
4. PHX does have a lot of talent, and assists is based on the talent around you, so you are right there. BUT you can onlt throw so many lobs. The rest have to be good passes for layups and open jumpers.
5. Its Amare

And whoever said Nash plays great defense needs to watch him play 48 v a good point guard. He's terrible.

Well, not all assists are created equal imo. Just passing the ball to an open shooter who knocks down the 20-footer, well okay that's an assist but sure, it's not that special. But some assist guys really ARE magicians with the ball. Jason Kidd, Steve Nash, Chris Paul...all those guys have the ability to create and get their scorers WAY better looks and shots. I don't think an assist is overrated when you can create a defensive lapse or shorthanded situation and by doing so get your guy receiving the pass an uncontested dunk or layup, or get a wide-open look for your 3-pt. specialist when you need a clutch 3. Assists that arise from those kind of high percentage opportunities aren't overrated imo. And if you can do that consistently throughout a game and get credit for assists from creating a high number of those opportunities, you really are appreciably increasing your team's chances of winning.

WHAT ABOUT JASON KIDD

A assist a racist stat u crazy man!!

ANd whoever said that Nash plays Defense needs to watch him against any point guard it like taking candy from a baby

Amare is good but he needs a point guard and nash does a good job.

America has always look for a good white basketball players and they give them exposure it kinda like white rappers and r&b singers they get lots of attention.

Jason kidd MR. triple Double is best point guard in the League in case u didn't know

If jason kidd was White he would be on ever poster and billboard in america with 3 mvp. It kinda like Mickey mantle or mark mcgwire american wants a all-american dude on t.v. but Nash is from canada so i dont know.

But it all good cause nash aint gettin no ring with that sorry defense he plays.

The attention he gets isnt racist it just america dude!!

No what is racist is your whole diatribe;Nash is one of the best players in the game he has a sweet shot but he' an unselfish player who makes his team members better. You come from the Dominique Wilkins school of basketball, shoot all you want pad your stats and don't care if the team loses and never make it to the Finals and to the playoffs just 1 time. Jason Kidd is revered like Nash for the same reason but you left him out because he's bi-racial. Don't go away mad - But PLEASE go away.

I dont know alot about basketball except that I think the whole thing is pretty unfair, If I was 6 foot 7 I better be able to dunk and jump and stuff. Why dont they get a bunch of 5 foot 6 guys and then call them heroes when they play a fair game. But I do understand your thoughts, remember this in the superbowl we had 2 black coaches, and the one that one said that he never yells and puts down his team (like most football coaches) he treats them with respect and he is a christian. He is someone to be proud of.

dont be ignorant...look at Phoenix's record without Nash...they get tons of easy baskets and good looks because Nash spreads the floor, hits the J, and could find an open man in the dark...MVP has everything to do with that individuals contribution to team cohesion and ability vs that team without said player...you ask any one of the Suns players what they think...besides isnt that AMARE(check spelling, sheesh)...and didnt he miss all of last season?...
