i got my bellybutton pierced a week ago and it doesn't hurt anymore and i havent had any problems with it. i hate the barbell that they put on there and i was wondering if it would be a bad idea to change it real fast and leave the one that i like on there for several months. the piercer told me to wait 6 weeks before i changed it, but if i changed it real fast and left the new one on there would it be a bad idea??

i did that when i got it done as long as the on you want isn't heavy you shoud be good but make sure you go as fast as you can but have some on there to help if you can't get it in.

It would be a bad idea, yes.
They pierce it with a barbell for a reason (heals faster than a hoop). I don't know if you were planning on putting a hoop in or just a different barbell, but either way, you need to let it heal.
With my piercings, I never waited the whole six weeks - I usually lasted about 3-4 - sometimes with bad results (infection), sometimes not.
If I were you, I'd wait six weeks. These guys know what they're talking about =)
Before you know it, your six weeks will be up and then your piercing should be completely healed, leaving you to change it whenever you want.
Enjoy!

Don't change it. I changed mine after 2 months and it was infected within days. Apparently piercers tell people different time spans now, because when I had it done, it was 6 months. A week definitely is not long enough, though.

I'D SAY TO LEAVE IT FOR THE FULL SIX WEEKS. HAVING IT HEAL PROPERLY IT THE BEST BET. CHANGING IT NOW WOULD MAYBE IRRITATE IT AND CAUSE AN INFECTION EVEN IF IT DOESN'T HURT.
