Large amounts of ribosomes and Golgi apparatus generally means that the cell is secreting something. Some stomach cells secrete enzymes required for digestion, particularly pepsin which digests proteins in the diet.

They have a lot of ribosomes because risosomes synthesize proteins, and protiens are needed to aid with digestion. Without these proteins, digestion would be impossible. Then they also have a lot of golgi apparatus because their function is to process and package materials they travel into the cell. You need golgi apparatuses because they packeage the food that is being digested preparing it to be stored in other parts of the cell. I hope this answered your question.

Also could you lend a helping hand by taking a look at my most recent question?
