Hobart is in southern Tasmania and Tasmania is SOUTH of Brisbane which is in Queensland. Tasmania / Hobart great lifestyle for some but depends on what you want really it is not a mecca for party happenin jetsetters or anything but its a Major city so it has a night life. There are people of many races living in Tassie. Easy enough to get around on public transport and food is fresh and healthy infact there are farms everywhere even tree farms hhmmm

Hobart is a small city but has a thriving nightlife. The University is a moderate walk from the city and has its own activities. There are jobs in Tasmania but it depends on your skills. Look at the Hobart Mercury on a Saturday to see what jobs are available. You will also get an idea of the cost of accommodation in the classified advertisements.
