If they were unknown, unmapped, or unchartered, or secret, or hidden then how the f are we supposed to know about them? lol...
I know that there are islands small, and some underwater sand dunes that in a few hundred years might be recognized....

Only in our imaginations....

Satellites have mapped over 94% of the earths surfaces so it is doubtful that any place we could live isn't already known.

They have even mapped most of the ocean floors, the only surface area not mapped is in the extreme north and the extreme south.... so maybe there is a small slice of land somewhere.

OF COURSE!
We haven't even finished exploring OUR OWN world completely. Our oceans are not even 100% explored. Maybe there is something in there...

Yes of course there are. We know more abut space than we do about the depths of our own oceans. and we still can only speculate what the inside of our earth looks like. Who knows its entirely possible that an entire civilization (like atlantis) lives 100s of miles beneath us.

possibly, that's why they are called "Unknown"
however w/ things like 30m sat photography it is *possibly* unlikely.
