If I take my tri band mobile phone to australia will I be able to use it over there?

If you know the carrier that you will be using in Australia I can tell you that Singtel Optus, Telstra, and Vodafone Australia all use the 900mhz band. That band should be a part of a tri-band phone. I am not familiar with other carriers or frequencies in Australia.
