I had unprotected sex the day after my period ended, about a week and a half ago. I took emergency contraception the next day. I know there is still a chance for pregnancy, and I haven't taken a test yet because it may be too early. Last night, I started to get a sever pain in my lower back, and I still have it today. Also, I am bleeding "down there" quite a bit as I would if I were on my period. I just ended my period about a week and a half ago, though, so I am worried.

I do suspect that, but is it possible to have a miscarriage this early on?

ok that last comment by homo sapiens was absolute tripe but youre REEAAAAAAALLLLLLLY unlikely to be pregnant. the morning after pill is a really high dose of hormones and it's going to screw with your cycle. when i started on yasmin i bled for a month straight, anything like that can have an effect on you and the effects are different for everyone. don't worry.

The chances are that you are not pregnant.
The emergency pill is highly effective within 24 hours, plus it is more than likely that you haven't even ovulated yet.
You are generally fertile for only one or two days a month (although sperm can live longer and therefore hang around anything up to 5 to 7 days before ovulation).
Ovulation normally occurs 14 days before your period starts. If you have a 28 day cycle, your period lasts 5 days and you have sex on the 6th day of your cycle there would be a slim chance that once you ovulate you could become pregnant, but it would be a miniscule chance as most sperm doesn't live that long and most cycles are not 28 days.
The bleeding is probably due to your hormones being messed up from the emergency pill. Your body isn't designed for this sort of thing, that's why emergency contraception shouldn't be relied on.
Although you should always use condoms I would suggest you get on the pill or something too, to avoid this in the future.
Hope it goes ok for you :)
p.s. ovulation occurs on the 14th day before the end of your cycle, NOT as is commonly suggested, the 14th day of your cycle. The phase between ovulation and a period is your luteul phase, and always lasts 13-14 days in a healthy woman. If you have a 35 day cycle you will ovulate on day 24, if you have a 22 day cycle you will ovulate on day 10. THIS is the reason so many women get pregnant by having sex during the so called "safe time". The safe time is something that is worked out with temperatures and cervical position amongst other things. The day 14 myth is also the reason so many healthy couples struggle to get pregnant, they are doing it at the wrong time of the month and missing ovulation entirely!
I would recommend that every woman reads Taking Charge of Your Fertility by Toni Weschler, not only for trying to concieve but for avoiding it too!

Okay..there is no need right now to go to the er..thats ridiculus. The same thing happened to me about a year and a half ago..so i know how you are feeling. I was scared to death that i might be pregnant...but more scared to tell anybody. You should tell somebody, some one that you TRUST. Now i didn't really trust anybody, but i told my "grandmother". But it is important that you tell some one if you can. You should also make a doctors appointment though. Remember the doctor can't release any information about you having a pregnancy test unless you sign a release form. Good Luck and stay strong!!!!!!!!!!!
p.s. it is very unlikely that you are pregnant because it happened right after your period and also because of the emergency contraceptives.

Honey if you suspect a miscarraige then it would show up on a test,
Perhaps it would be kinder not to know as if you were, and it's early you don't require any hospital treatment,
If you are concerned then ask your GP
PS it could be from the emergancy contraception, it can make your cycle go haywire too

On avearge you ovulate around the 14th day of your cycle with day one of your cycle being the first day of your normal period. If you didn't ovulate till day 24-27 of a normal 28 day cycle women would never get pregnant. The fertilized egg would be flushed out with the flow of your period.

You have had sex in the SAFEST period. There is NO need to worry as it is IMPOSSIBLE to get pregnent a day after period. the best period for conception is 24 to 27 days after last period.
