Depends what you mean by 'best'.
Most used word of 3 or more letters is QAT.
Most points is CAZIQUES or BEZIQUES, if the front and end tiles both land on triple word scores...maxes out to a 392 point word.

Best word to know if you want to get a 50 point bonus is AERATION (due to tile probability and lack of other anagrams to compete with this word). Computer simulation has proven this. AEROLITE, ERASION, ATONIES, and INERTIAE come close.

Best word to get rid of garbage and make lots of points...DUUMVIRI. !! Or maybe GUAIACUM. OUGUIYA is pretty good too.

I was playing against my grandmother a few years back and used "VULVA" for a triple word score. An awkward moment.
