I had intercourse on Friday and I bled a little bit after, not much but a bit. Why?
I'm not a virgin, I'm a grown woman, so it wasn't my hymen breaking.
Also, it wasn't my period. First, my period came on January 26th and ended February 1st. So, I'm sure it wasn't my period also it was just a few tiny spots of blood but should I be concerned?
The sex was not painful and was quite enjoyable, I might add.
At the present time I don't have any medical insurance due to switching jobs so I cannot see a doctor at this time, I am just curious if I should be concerned. I am also Trying To Conceive, Friday was my Ovulation Day.
Please Help.

Yes. Vaginal bleeding after intercourse should be evaluated by your doctor. This type of bleeding isn't normal.

Vaginal bleeding, as you describe, can have many causes. In some cases, it may be a sign of a serious underlying problem. So don't delay in seeing your doctor. Potential causes include:

Vaginal dryness after delivery or after menopause
Vaginal trauma
Inflammation of the cervix (cervicitis)
Sexually transmitted diseases, such as chlamydia or gonorrhea
Cervical polyps
Pelvic inflammatory disease
Uterine fibroids
Cancer of the cervix, uterus or vagina
Treatment depends on the underlying cause of the bleeding. For example, if the cause is vaginal dryness due to menopause, your doctor may recommend estrogen therapy and over-the-counter water-based lubricants or moisturizers.

small amount of vaginal bleeding after sex is a classic sign of chlamydia, you can feel perfectly fine otherwise too with no other symptoms, most people carry it unknowingly as it has little symptoms, you must go to your local hospital for a check up, they will check you're ok, if not you'll get a course of anti-biotics like penecillin to take. dont feel shy or awkward about it just go, its important you get checked. search on yahoo for 'chlamydia symptoms' and then you'll be able to gain some knowledge, but go to the docs before you try to conceive, tell your partner too, both go to the genito-uniary (GU) dept of a hospital. good luck

ok dear i have been through the same situation..bleeding after intercourse..i visited my OB Gyn & she did cervical pap smear just to exclude any kind of infection..thank God it turned out to be negative..though from her first exam she told me it is most likely to be cervical ulcer..of unknown etiology..so after friction (intercourse) it bleeds easily..& asked for follow up.. so the bleeding stopped by itself & i neglected the follow up.. it occured for the second time..but this time the bleeding was more so i visited other OB Gyn (as second opinion) and she confirmed the first diagnosis (cervical ulcer) she applied something locally (something nitrate) i dont recall its name..and gave me vaginal supposatories..& the follow up was comforting.. i hope i dont get it back.. i think u should go to check..at least to confirm the absence of any infection.. then the rest its ur call to follow or according to ur financial situation.. but plz dont neglect urself.. wish u luck..

Don't worry, your cervix is very sensitive after ovulation so that could be the reason, and often during sex you will receive tiny tears in the vagina and not even realize......I have often spotted after sex and my Dr. said I am fine.
