Bad credit is one of the worst problems to have... however there exists a solution.

I will hereby talk from my personal experience.

I did debt consolidation a couple of years ago, however If I had to do it again I would pay to some minor details,
if someone wants to get out of debt today it is pretty easy with a debt consolidation plan, however it may get a bit tricky at times, I suggest you get as much information as possible online on this first,

a good place to start in my humble opinion is astraight to the point ebook with question and answer I found :

If you don't make double the rent then you can't afford to live there. Are you saving for retirement? Do you have cash for a rainy day? Are you putting any money away for your dreams/goals like one day owning a home? Probably not if half your salary is going towards your rent payment.

You can either either get a co-signer, or talk to the apartment manager and see if you can pay 1st and lat month's rent plus depa deposit. Also, you may want to contact your previous landlord and see if they will write a letter of reference for you (as long as you left in good standing). Talk to the manager and see what you can do, or if they have any policies to allow for people in your situation, most places do.
