Toms Hardware is THE site for graphics card reviews. Currently for £100 you are looking between the ATI Radeon X1650 Pro or the Nvidia 7600 GT. If you can stretch a little bit farther go for the ATI Radeon X1950.

Don't worry about memory above 256MB as most games now wouldn't use it and down the line when they will you will need a new direct X10 card anyway. In fact get a better card with 128MB of memory over a worse card with 256MB.

Anyway good luck!

How long is a piece of string ?
this is a wide ranging question really depends on what you want out of your graphics card ?.. High tech Xbox type reproduction .. or Nintendo 64 pictures .. and that's not as daft a it sounds .
some one who uses the computer for data sheets and such like , and has no interest in running ie Blood Rayne or any other high definition requirement will get away with a Nvidia 64 or such like . Any serious gamer is going to need a card with the most ram on the card that he can get for the money he can afford . Also check with the seller what systems that the card has problems with they don't all like XP and as Vesta is now on the horizon you can bet there are going to be updates required for that also ...

to be honest mate, the £100 and less group of graphic cards are some of the best
ok ,not all of us have the funds to buy 2 x geforce 8800gtx cards, and to be honest ,you need a top notch p.c to run some top notch cards
for around £100 you should be looking for at least 256mb ram,and pixel and shader model 3.0,this will make your card capable of playing all of the latest games, but some not at very high resolutions
the radeon x1650pro(http://www.scan.co.uk/Products/ProductInfo.asp?WebProductID=487722)is a excellent choice for the price, with 512mb of video ram ,and 12 pixel pipelines this will surely make your games sparkle
for a nvidia choice the geforce 7600gt(http://www.scan.co.uk/Products/ProductInfo.asp?WebProductID=412319) is another good choice, and again with 12 pixel pipelines and 256mb video memory, this card is capable of blistering frame rates
however my favourite in this price range has to be the radeon x1950xt(http://www.scan.co.uk/Products/ProductInfo.asp?WebProductID=544663)with a amazing 36 pixel pipelines and a core clock of 500mhz this card is the best you can get for £100,infact go back a year it was the best you could get full stop.
good luck
