Those people don't die because they don't have insurance. They die because they don't get treatment. BIG difference. Also Canada's system is not without its faults. A big number one is that providers are VERY underpaid in the great white north. Also there are long waiting lists to have procedures performed. Everything from something minor to some very serious complications.
The biggest part of the problem with the US's current insurance system is that the company's biggest responsibility is not to its customers or to its providers, it is to its stock holders. If you really want to see why health insurance costs so much just lookup the stock symbol for your favorite health insurance company. Take a look at how their stock has performed over the last few years.
Want to see another problem? Check out the profitability and stock prices of the major pharmacuetical companies since about 1990. Their profits have exploded! Also once their lobbiests got the government to allow advertising of prescription medication they spent HUGE mountains of money turning people into walking prescriptions waiting to be filled. If you don't believe me sit down tonight with a pad of paper. Make a few columns of major industries: Automotive, Fashion, Electronics, and then put down Pharmacueticals. Now take an hour and tally how many commercials you see for each category of ads. Look and see which column has the most marks. Then go and open up your favorite magazine. Count the ads for Pharmacueticals. See the problem?
I don't know the answer but I sure as heck can see the problems.

If the hospitals would charge a fair price, then the insurance companies wouldn't have to raise the price so darn high.
It's that high monthly cost that kills everyone.
Hospitals purposely triple the cost for everyone.
That is the solution, for the hospitals to charge a fair price, so the insurance companies don't have to charge such high premiums.
but of course doctors don't care about anything but becoming rich, and they will never give up any amount of money to help anyone.
--------------------
another thing is that more people die from going to the hospital then not going. Thats a fact, it has been proven

It will never happen. That is why having health insurance is important, even if you have to pay with your own money. What would you rather have, health or money? Canada has free health insurance, but the quality is less and it takes longer to get treated.

As someone's already pointed out, Canada provides medical care to all its citizens--perhaps our government should study Canada's system. Every American should have access to medical care ... the unfortunate trade-off, though, is reduced quality of that care.
