I recently just purchased a Kirby vacuum cleaner & carpet shampooer; the salesman said that it was perfectly ok to clean the couch with the Kirby shampoo (it's really just a light foam) I just wanted to know if anyone has any personal experiances they can share...

Actually the shampoo is a dry foam that dries very quickly and has a nice scent too, but Shampooing furniture is not reccomended cause it could leave wet mark stains, I have used it on fabric sofas before, but you have to be extremely careful not to soak the furniture. Kirby is amazing on carpet and upholstry in the car and home, but just be careful on a sofa.

I got a kirby and HATE it! I don't like it in the least and would never recommend it to anyone! Everytime I take my front piece off to use the extras (like you want to) I can never get that thing back on right and have to mess with it for 30 minutes before I can use it again! I didn't do that great on my carpets either! So, I'm not sure about the furniture! If you have nice furniture, I wouldn't untill you are absolutely sure of what you are doing! Incase something don't work right! There are a couple of steps to that if I remember right! Good luck.

I was told that a damp rag would clean it also But if it is very dirty I would rent a Rug Doctor and get the hand wand use a mild detergent and hot water to clean . I would rinse after cleaning with the cleaner to remove all soap residue , with clear water . Hope that this helps
