Anyone having a problem with an 8.5hp craftsman snow thrower not staying running when temps are 0F or below.Mine runs for about 3mins then dies. Then wont start for 15 mins. It does it at full run or half choke. Sears doesn't think there is a problem since it never does it in the warm shop they work in. seems like its flooding out.

Craftsmen tools used to be the best, I won't own any kind of craftsman, power tool , an the hand tools are crappy too. Depending on how old it is, I would return it and buy another snow thrower.

Make sure you arent re-priming it when you try to restart it. Other than that, I would pretty much do what the first guy said. Drain your gas. Add fresh gas with gasline a/f and ALWAYS add stabilizer to your gas. I don't know how long you've had this thing, but changing the plug is never a bad idea. I recommend once a year under normal operating conditions. Other than that, just make sure you are letting it warm up before you start blowing. Good luck to ya!

Drain your gas. upload sparkling gas with gasline a/f and continuously upload stabilizer on your gas. i do not comprehend how lengthy you've had this element, yet replacing the plug isn't in any note of a foul concept. i tips once a 365 days below complication-free operating situations. except that, genuinely make constructive you're letting it warm temperature up previously you start up blowing. solid fulfillment to ya!
