Global warming means that the average temperature of the planet as a whole is increasing. It certainly doesn't mean that it will be warmer everywhere every day. The climate in some places will even become colder, as patterns of wind and ocean currents change. This will also lead to changes in rainfall distribution, which could lead to massive crop failures in some places.

And actually, warmer temperatures did contribute to the snowfall. Higher than average surface temperatures on Lake Ontario put more moisture in the air to make lake effect snow.

Before you tell Al Gore to rethink, you ought to think first yourself.

Squidly Leu is exactly right. All the snow in New York is more evidence to SUPPORT global warming (though I hesitate to use a short-term example to support long-term climactic change).
The lake effect snows are driven by the moisture absorbed from the Great Lakes region. Since we have had such a mild winter (until recently) Lake Ontario and Lake Erie have not frozen over like they usually would have. Thus, huge snowfalls in upstate New York.

No actually a increase in snow this year because alot of the lakes haven't fully frozen yet adding more moisture to the air.Are winters will be shorter but or snow level will be greater....but it is nice to see the shorts already on display at the mall.

glbal warming isn't the best term. Climate change is much better. Global warming will eventually make the edarth much warmer, but not by much to us. However, the enviroment will change quite a bit. 10 degrees may not seem like much now, but that will cause a lot more effects.

The science is well proven. Nobody who has studied it denies taht it is being caused by humans and that it is very real.

you can thank man for all the pollution that's going into the air. our ozone layer has a hole in it. the fish is contaminated in Niagara falls. did you know there was factory's on Niagara at one time spilling poisons into the water? that's how ignorant humans can be when they don't do research.
