So people don't get hit by a car when they cross the street because they are too busy listening to their music and not paying attention to what's going on around them.
In other words...you can't make a law to protect all fools, but they will try their damnest to regulate and control *everything*.

A few dumb people have gotten injured or killed because they were too stupid to look both ways before crossing the street, something that we hopefully all learned when we were 5 years old.
So, ban the iPods to save a few stupid peoples' lives instead of saving 3000 lives of our brave soldiers in Iraq

Well, they think people get distracted...don't hear the cars and get hit. People just need to be more aware of their surroundings. Seems they make a law for everything these days!

because three people in nyc died when crossing the street wearing headphones. It is not only ipods, but rather all music devices. as far as i know, it is only a proposed ban in new york, not elsewhere.
