I've had two in the past. If he's new, and there are other fish in the tank, he's probably still getting used to the new home. Give him a few days.

Ones I've had will usually swim to the center of the tank and just hover there. If you come over, they'll come over to the glass and "wag" their bodies & beg for food. Glad to see you're feeding enriched brine shrimp - it's a good sized food for them, & better nutritionally than regular brine shrimp - the mysis may be a little large for him right now unless you chop it up. I always thought I was underfeeding mine because their bellies always have a "sunken" appearance, but that's natural in this species. You shouldn't have to worry to much about them with your other fish - canaries aren't called "fang" blennies for nothing! They are venomous, & although it's unlikely they will hurt you (I never had one bite me) or any other fish (their mouths don't open that wide!), one nip will encourage harrassing fish to leave them alone.

We have a saltwater tank at work. I'm in charge of feeding and general care on a day-to-day basis, but it is maintained by a outside professional service. Anytime we get new fish, the aquarist says to watch the fish to see when it starts eating and only start to worry after it hasn't eaten for 1 week. It takes them time to get acclimated and to feel comfortable and some fish are a lot more sensitive than others. You've only had it for one day. Don't worry about it yet.

While bleenys can certainly be a bit touchy, most come around and start to feed within a few days. The blenny not eating for 3-4 days really isn't anything to worry about, that's not atypical at all.

Good luck with him!

Buying a fish before you know anything about it is not a good idea, especially with saltwater fish which can have very specific requirements.

Be prepared for that fish to slowly starve to death in your tank. They stress easily and eat the algae and small bacteria off of live rock in a well established tank (1+ years). At this point try buying some Cyclopeeze to get it wanting to eat, but wait another day or two before really trying to spot feed him.

Otherwise, be ready to pluck a corpse out.
