It should be wiped away.
The add no value and stability to a country that no longer needs them. They are a burden on the country and draw attention away from more important issues.
Would life be any worse without them? No.

Yes, England should join the 20th century (only 107 years late) abolish the monarchy and become a federal republic.
The inbred German cretins in Buckingham Palace and the syphilitic alcoholics in the House of Lords should all be retired, with their estates reverting to the British public.
They should be allowed to apply for unemployment benefits and be given flats in the council estates.
In their place, Great Britain should have an elected president as head of state, an elected Senate as the upper house of parliament and a Supreme Court appointed by the prime minister with the advice and consent of the senate in place of the Privy Council.
It's long past time Britain became a republic.

no. london is one of the greatest tourism places in the world mostly because people now a days are fascinated with royalty. yes, they do not have power and they have it easy with taxes and welfare from the british government but, the royal family is the nations symbol and tradition, and they should keep it that way.

I'm not from Britain so it surely is none of my business. However, the monarchy seems terribly outdated and the "royals" are basically a bunch of stuck up jerks who think they really are better than anyone else. I figure they put their pants on one leg at a time and still need Charmin like the rest of us.

I don't see why it should be. It no longer wields any actual governmental power. It remains as a symbol of Britains rich history.
