Okay, lets see....out of high school (18 yrs old), she moves to Italy for a year. When she gets back to the U.S., she attends college at CSULA and gets a masters in creative writing and also studies philosophy, art, and photography. She then (with a couple of friends) back packs through out Europe for a while with the money she saved up while in college. When she gets back, she works her way from place to place....during that time she is writing a book (which she is very good at)....she says that she has too many stories to not write them down.

That is sort of just a general over view. What do you think of someone who lives like that? Whose not a bum (makes their own money and so forth), but just sort of drifts from place to place...

You can work and go to college at the same time...

She sounds like a very interesting person and I bet her book would be worth reading. She also sounds like someone who is always looking for a new challenge or adventure. That would be fun for a while, but personally I think it would be hard to start and maintain relationships/friendships if you're always moving around. I would get lonely.

I'd say let her follow her dream. She is taking care of business her own way and making a life of her own. It's hard sometimes for parents becasue they want their child near to them at all times and know what's going on. Accept she's an adult and wants this for her life now. I can say that I've had a revolving rolledex for an address from different state to state. I'm pretty much set where I want to be but all the experiences were well worth the moves. She's very lucky and fortunate that she can do that. Let her see the world through her eyes and however she chooses. It's hard being a parent and letting go...I have esperience in that I have had two daughters...let them be who they want to be and set them free. Their love is always yours>>>

Since I am now 45 and have lots of things I wish I would have done, I say I'm jealous! There is plenty of time to have a serious life if that is what you want. I am sure she will not have a lot of regrets about doing this when she is old and reflecting on her life. She sounds like someone I would love to have a good conversation with, too. I think you should go on a trip with her and experience what her life is now. Sounds like lots of fun.

i dont see why peeople should judge her for any reason at all. she has finished high school is not living off of benefits and is living her life exactly how she eants to what the hell is wrong with that?? all i can say to her is. you go girl !!! i would be very supportive of her and is she chose to be a nomad what is wrong with that i am living in gran canaria with my parents(i'm only 13 yrs old ) and moveing here was the best thing that we have ever done so if any one has got a problem with the fact that she chose not to live in one place should have a think about everything that they have achived (witch is probbaly not very much)

If this person is *completely* self-supporting and not at all reliant on her parents' money, I would find her extremely interesting, intrepid, mature, and living the good life of her 20's.

If, however, she is dependent on her parents in any material way , then she is a bum and a drifter who is not willing to grow up.

I depends on the sort of person you are. I personally, would not like to live like that because I need stability- I need to know what I'm going to do everyday and have a schedule for when to do it. If you like drifting and never knowing what tomorrow will bring, I say live that way.

I think it's great! She's enjoying her life and getting world history. Also she's being cultered. I think she should do it all while she can. I think it's even more great that she is not bumming around like an aimless vagabond. Good for her!

I think that I hope they enjoy it. Why shouldn't she, she's not hurting anyone and is paying her own way, and has no responsibilities tying her down. Everyone's path is different, we don't have to agree with it, just be glad the person is happy.

Are you asking people to judge you? I'm not going to judge those lifestyle / career choices.

Rather, the question that needs to be answered is..."Are those choices working for you for this time in your life?"

Only you know that answer.

Good luck!
