Recently I have had a problem with someone unpugging my extension cord from the block heater on my car. With temperature falling below zero here in the winter it is pretty important to have the block heater plugged in overnight. More recently someone has stolen the extension cord. I am looking for a solution other than sitting in the vehicle waiting for that someone to pull the plug or steal the cord again. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

you can tape the end of the extension cord where it plugs on to your car.....you could also maybe roll on it, or place your front wheel on the extension cord......as long as you have a good extension cord.....you shouldn't have any problems. Then if you have a long enough extension cord.....plug it in inside the house...and tie it off inside somewhere. At least if they try to steal it.......you'll eventually meet the thief. Best of luck to you.

Assuming that your engine hood can only be opened from the inside of your car... Take a couple of turns of extension cord and wrap it around a solid piece of the engine or shock strut then drop it out of the bottom of the engine compartment. On the end that you plug into the outlet, do the same thing if possible. Both ends is better, but securing one end should make it theft proof...

I used to plug the cord in and tuck the end under the hood. I would also have the cord looped on the ground so a tire was sitting on it. I never had a cord stolen while I was working downtown and parking in public parking.

Install a motion sensor light and have your car parked where it will turn on when someone walks by it. I have those on my front porch and garage (which are side by side for the whole front of the house) and love them. They give me security when my hubby is gone working at nights.
