Oh yes! I haven't been on one in a while but I would love it now!
I can imagined being tied up to each of the four posts while hubby does incredibly sexy things to me making me beg for him to do me right now! The sexual torture would be incredible!
I may have to buy one with our tax refund!

There are two main reasons for having four-posters: 1...Privacy. Until (roughly) the reign of Q. Elizabeth I when long galleries (i.e. corridors) became general - and then only in new houses - it was common to have to pass through bedrooms to reach one's own place. The curtains assured decency. 2...Comfort. The tester and curtains excluded draughts. It is not, by the way, true that only the rich had them. The rich had the elaborately carved and ornamented examples we now see in museums, but less well-off people often had cheaper versions, occasionally as far down the social scale as the cottager. As a boy I knew an old man who still lived in a two-roomed cottage - inner room (bed-place) and outer kitchen (house-place). His bedroom had an ancient fourposter, too huge and clumsy to have been built anywhere but in the room it almost totally occupied. It was decrepit and worm-eaten and had no curtains - but was unmistakeably a down-market version of the standard Elizabethan/Jacobean bed. When he died his children sold the land for a housing development and his bed vanished along with the house. Hope this helps.

Yeah. I call mine the 'workbench'. Those post give it great stability and it's at the perfect height for everything.
