This often happens at church... I am introduced to someone new, and they ask "what grade are you going to be in sweetie?" I know they mean no harm, but its a little insulting considering I'm a 21 yr old married mother. Or, when I'm chatting with someone at the gym, talking about my daughter, they think thats normal. Then I mention I'm married too, and they get this brief look of shock, like they assumed I was a young single mom. If you're bored enough, check out my pics at www.myspace.com/rachelemonique and see if you can tell me what it is about me that would make people think I look younger. I've tried every length and color of hair, and that seems to make no difference. I'm seriously just curious, so thanks if you take the time to do this!

Take it as a compliment! You won't hear it for long and the only comment you'll get after stating your age, etc. is "Oh, you look so young!" - another compliment. The same thing used to happen to me all the time and I loved it. I'm 32 now and very rarely get to hear it any more. Time goes fast - enjoy yourself looking young! You'll age soon enough, and miss the heck out of it. Can you see yourself all hunched over at 90 telling your grandchildren "Ooh, everyone thought I looked so much younger than my age" as they snicker, thinking you look like the oldest person on record? I promise you, you'll miss it soon enough!

Well, I looked. I can't see anything to make you look like a high school kid. How do you dress? I'm assuming you dress in the same styles as your age-related peers, so, unless highschoolers there dress more maturely than here, it isn't that either... Perhaps you're just young-looking. My husband turned 41 this year and customers in his store keep asking if they have 'someone older' to wait on them, they don't want a kid... and are shocked to find he is the oldest man there! You'll appreciate it when you're 40, provided you keep whatever it is! If it's genes, great, you'll have that young look when you're 60, which is a bonus. Pain in the rear now, though. You have my sympathy; I had the same sort of problem - when I was 12 I looked 30; and when I was 50, I still looked 30.

Be proud of it. Cause when you are forty you will still look twenty. I know I get the same thing. I am not married or have kids but I am 21 and still get confused with being 12. Sometimes they accuse me of being younger than my baby brother. Who by the way is 18 now. So don't sweat it. Just be proud that you look so good.

Take it for what its worth, a compliment about you looking so good..People arent being mean or anything, you are still very young at 21. It is very uncommon for girls your age to be married and a mother. Not many are ready at that age. But, it in no way is bad that people think you are young..I am sure you have heard it before, but, be grateful...it wont last forever...

My daughter has the same problem, and she's 22. She started dressing differently - more maturely, and it's helped her seem her age. BTW, I had the same problem at your age - both my daughter and I are petite, and I think that has a lot to do with it. I still get shocked looks when I tell people how old my daughter is (they usually say, "But how old are YOU?"). It's really a very nice problem, once you get older :) But I do remember feeling frustrated when I was your age.

When I was younger, I had the same problem. Part of my problem is that I am very short only 5 feet. I tried everything I could think of too. Now I'm wishing that I still looked that young.

You are young looking and a few years from now you'll be happy about that. lol I think people just have it in their minds that women 21..with a child..is a single mom. Also...if you have a petite build...for some reason people will think of you as being younger than you are. :)

You look a bit 'juvenile' but not really that young, I might say 21... Though I couldn't take a too good look because of the maddening wallpaper of your page.

You might not like it now, but in 20 years you will love looking younger than you are.

You will be so happy when you are in your 30's and above! Take this as compliment, always bring your id everywhere with you.
I went to Nevada (oh I was in my 30's somewhere) to gamble and forgot my id in my room, they would not let me do anything until I went to get it. Take it as a compliment....
