It's always easier to change like for like. $$$$
If you'rre thinking about doing it just to save money on gas don't bother. If you blew up the old one it's easier to have it replaced or rebuilt with the same kind.

Why would you want to do that? It'd be worlds easier to just replace the whole vehicle.
