The lifespan of a crocodile depends on how much they are hunted for their hides, poaching and loss of habitat. Their lifespan can be anywhere from 50 to 100 years depending on the type of crocodile.

Here are some of the different types of crocodiles and their lifespans:
*African Slender-Snouted Crocodile, found in West & Central Africa, Mauritania & Senegal to North Angola east to Zaire, Zambia, & East Tanzania can live 50 + years.

*The American crocodile, found in southern Florida, the Caribbean, southern Mexico, and along the Central American coast south to Venezuela can live 60-70 years.

*Nile Crocodiles, found in Africa, south of the Sahara and on offshore islands can live 70-100 years.

*Cuban crocodiles, found in Zapata Swamp, in habitat very similar to that found in Florida's Everglades, with sawgrass and dense shrubs growing in the water. Their lifespan in the wild isn't really known, but they can live up to 75 years in a zoo.

You'll read anything from 50 to 100+ years, depending on the source. I simply leave it at this:
They live as long as people. There were alligators at the St. Augustine (Florida) Alligator Farm that had been there since the park changed hands from the original owners I believe in the 1920's. That was until the late 80's I believe it was when some virus swept through and killed a lot of their alligators and crocodiles.

So, yeah, simply put, with good care, they live as long as we do.

Just going off on a tangent here... did you know that crocodiles are living fossils and were around in more or less their modern form during the time of the dinosaurs? (65 million years ago and before)

Alligators as well as crocodiles and flounders; while in the right environment with plenty of sustenance, can live indefinitely.. They just get bigger as they age. kind of like trees. now there's not enough evidence to support that as entirely true, but they definitely can rival and surpass the life expectancy of humans, turtles and tortoises, elephants, etc.
