I plan on playing high scool football next year (not a very good team), and I was wondering where I migt play and how I should train before camp gets started. I'm 5'4'' and 116 lbs., one of the faster kids for my age, and have never played an offical football game in my life. Only with my friends

Cornerback...Defensive Back...You would have to bulk up to play Wide Receiver...Defenders are about 200-225 in HS...

I think you could be a cornerback and possibly a running back. But cornerback would be a better option. You're on the small side for a RB but you could utilize your speed and develop your agility to become more of a change-direction kind of runner if you know what i mean. you're definitely not going to be a Jerome Bettis or Earl Campbell. You say you're fast, so use this advantage as a running back to outrun defenders and use it as a cornerback to annoy receivers all day long.

Cornerback. Sorry but you are a little too small to play wide receiver and definitley too small to play running back. Just try to put on a little more muscle weight. If you are playing with your friends, practice covering your friend while he runs routes. Work on your agility, and try to get faster, because if you dont have size, speed is where you will get your help from.

definatly a corner back, maybe safty since ur sorta small but fast, maybe if u are strong u could be tail back, if u have never played organized football in ur life make sure u hit the weight room, it would be tuff for u if u never played real football if u dont. good luck.

you will grow taller as the yrs go by...play defense secondary

safety, corner.line backer....to get ready i suggest running 1 mile at least 3 times a week and Lift 3x a week.
2 a day practice is common during camp; its quite difficult when you are not in shape...your coach might let you guys run with pads on which is also hard...so i suggest get in shape before camp. it will help

learn how to tackle to, tackling in a real game is hard..especially when you have to tackle players that is really athletic

i am stressing this....GET IN SHAPE BEFORE CAMP!

act like a leader too...when your done running your laps during camp...and a person is way behind...encourage them to finish strong..have strong leadership skills

ask questions to your defensive coach to, if your confused

as the yrs go by;your jr or senior yr. i expect you to be a good player

Corner back. You might be running back. I mean shoot look at maruice jones drew everyone thought he was to small but he is one of the best rookies this year. Im betting on Corner back if your fast enough and can defend well.

along with all the answers everyone else was given...give special teams a try. return punts, kickoffs be on the coverage team. hit someone =).

but if ur team isnt very good and ur one of the better guys ur coach will make that decision for u!

Cornerback. They don't hit a whole lot (since you've never played before). Also, since ur fast. You have to be quick though. You can't just be fast to play corner.

Thats small. You would probaly be an ok running back if your fast but you need to get bigger. Work on your agility too.
