i only have had him for 3 months as he was a stray.he loves attention but he likes to bite and scrach when patted.i think he just wants to play as he rarely brakes the skin but i have a baby that i don't want to get hurt.how can i get him to stop?its only when he gets patted on his back.

Withdraw from any petting as long as he bites, and avoid petting his back. Most cats have a spot they don't like to be petted on.

Don't pet him!! Some cats don't like all that fluffy stuff. Some have attitudes. That is just the way they are. Enjoy him the way he is.
I am sure you have some pet peeves to that you don't like people doing to you.
