sounds like you have a telephone plugged in which has not got a filter or has a faulty filter. this will cause broadband to be dropped every time the phone rings or is picked up.

I always find my internet connection is much more reliable when nothing else is connected to the line. If you don't want to unplug your phones etc, make sure you have a Microfilter connected to every phone socket, even ones that don't have a computer.

I used to have really bad connection problems, just because my Sky box didn't go through a Microfilter.

Maybe you still have your 56K dial-up modem connected to your broadband line, you should unplug it.

If it isn't that then there might be a problem with your line, contact your internet service provider for help.
