In wrestling "shoot" can mean one of two things. It is slang term for something real that happened, not something part of the story line. For example, Eddie Guerrero really died. That was a shoot.

Shoot is also a term used to describe a fast grab at the legs. It is a term used both in amateur and professional wrestling. You will here it a lot in Kurt Angle matches, as he often shoots on his opponent to hit single or double leg take-downs.

A shoot match is a match where the hits are real. I'm not sure if they do them anymore.
