I suspect that English is not your first language and that you do not know that in America, where most Yahoo participants live, calling a person "dumb" is now considered offensive. We call people who are unable to speak "non-verbal." "Dumb" used to mean unable to speak, but now it means the same thing as "stupid." That's why some people took offense to your question.
I am not familiar with the book you are requesting. I would suggest that you do an Internet search. Sign language is specific to the language used in each country, so Pakistani sign language is not the same as American sign language.
Good luck in obtaining the resources to help your child.

Some of the people above are pretty stupid. I'm 11 and even I knew that dumb means they can't speak. He's not being a bad parent. But just so poeple don't take offense anymore I would use the words Can't speak, You're not wrong it's just to be on the safe side. I would do an internet search, you can search at librarys or book stores. Ypu guys above should really try to learn things right. If an 11 year old knows that and you guys don't then...wow. Thanks for trying to do the right thing but it's not the right thing because you are wrong.

I cannot find that exact book. It may be that the title is incorrect. Below is a link to a list of several Sign Language books, many showing his name.
To Wildthing...the people above are not stupid and I will give you the benefit of doubt and consider your response as being naive as opposed to ignorant. The proper term is "mute" not "dumb". Dumb is insulting to people who are non-verbal. These people are not lacking in intelligence just because you cannot understand them.
"Being unable to speak is not the same as having nothing to say."

Wow, I feel sorry for your child. You don't deserve them if you call them dumb. You are by far the most lousy parent I have ever seen on here. God gave you that special child, and you go around calling it dumb. Why don't you think of the people who would love to have your child? You need parenting classes. Is it really their fault they're like that? No, it's yours because you helped make the child. So right there you're calling yourself dumb, too.

What a good parent you are calling your child these names. I feel bad for your child. Here is a link for you.Be proud that you were given a special child. All children are special but yours has been given challenges to overcome. Help your child and stop referring to him/her as deaf and dumb.
