Unfortunately n very sad 2 say, they may have 2 terminate the pregnancy n remove the fetus... When the baby is growing outside of the womb, it can do harm to mom, n it just isn't getting all the care it needs as if it were in the womb... As far as the doctors simply giving her a pill n sending her home, well, she needs 2 see another doctor because I dont know what pill they gave her but if shes already 6 weeks weeks pregnant, the morning after pill will not terminate the pregnancy or allow the fetus to leave her body, it will only do more harm... They may need 2 perform a DNC n properly remove it... I'm very sorry n I wish your friend the best of luck

Yes it does increase you chances of having a miscarriage because any surgery performed on your womb and cervix runs the risk of weakening and damaging them. It does not however increase your risk of an ectopic pregnancy no relation at all.

Girl, have you opened a can of worms?!!!
The rhetoric is flying the facts are few.
I don't like abortion, but I won't twist the facts,
Statistically, a woman with one abortion (termination of pregnancy in a medical facility) in her history has no higher risk to have an ectopic pregnancy than she had before the abortion.

IT IS PROVEN FACT that if you have an abortion that you have more chance to have a miscarriage and an ectopic pregnancy. I did a bunch of research when I was considering having this baby or abortion. I chose the baby because I didnt want to be enabled in the future!!! So YES it increases it, Ive talked to various doctors etc etc...
IT IS NOT SOMETHING PRO LIFE PEOPLE SAY!!!

*IF* you have a D&C for ANY REASON including abortion there is a chance of scarring to the uterus. And a very, very small chance that your falopian tube could be blocked. There is no additional risks if you use RU486
http://www.surgeryencyclopedia.com/Ce-Fi/Dilatation-and-Curettage.html
Risks
The primary risk after the procedure is infection. If a woman experiences any of the following symptoms, she should report them immediately to her doctor, who can treat the infection with antibiotics:
* fever
* heavy bleeding
* severe cramps
* foul-smelling vaginal discharge
D & C is a surgical operation that has certain risks associated with general anesthesia such as pulmonary aspiration and failed intubation. Rare complications include perforation of the uterus (which usually heals on its own) or puncture of the bowel or bladder (which requires further surgery to repair).
Extensive scarring of the uterus may occur after over-aggressive scraping during D & C, leading to a condition called Asherman's syndrome. The major symptoms of Asherman's syndrome are light or absent menstrual periods, infertility, and recurrent miscarriages. Scar tissue can be removed with surgery in most women, although approximately 20–30% of women will remain infertile after treatment.

Risks due to anesthesia include:
* Reactions to medications
* Problems breathing
Risks of any surgery include:
* Bleeding
* Infection
Additional risks include:
* Puncture (perforation) of the uterus
* Laceration (tear) of the cervix
* Scarring of the uterine lining (endometrium)

Abortion is technically a miscarriage,it is defined as the spontaneous or induced termination of a pregnancy. Abortion can actually decrease your odds of getting pregnant in the future by increasing the scar tissue in your uterus. It can also effect future pregnancies by limiting placental growth and blood flow to baby! So yes it can, to answer your question! Good luck with whatever situation you may be in!

Ask something like "I have to have a D&C because I miscarried. Will this surgery increase my chances of miscarriage in the future?"
Everybody will (correctly) tell you "no," and leave their snarky "keep your legs closed, you tramp" garbage to themselves.

No it doesn't, and I know this because I know someone that had an abortion and now has a child... they had no problems, and no doctor has been able to tell that they had an abortion.
