This is the simplest thing, and it wont make sense to some people, but I'll try to explain...
Drink a tablespoon of apple cider vinegar (the kind from the healthfood store) before every meal for a few weeks. You will notice a significant difference. Here's why it works...
Despite what you've always been told... heartburn, acid reflux, INdigestion.. are all caused from not having enough acid in your stomach. Doctors will tell you that you need less acid in your stomach to rid yourself of this indigestion. They give you pills that help "neutralize" the acid. What neutralizing the acid means is that the pill causes your body to shut off all acid producers in your stomach, like you're told... but what they don't tell you is that this triggers your stomach to flood with acid when you eat, which helps digest the food.
Basically "INdigestion" means not digested. When you have indigestion your stomach is not properly digesting your food. If what doctors say is true, and you have "too much" acid in your stomach, wouldn't you think your food would be over digested, not "in"digested??? This poorly digested food travels into your intestines, where they have to work overtime to do the work your stomach didn't do properly. This causes pain. If you add acid to your stomach first - apple cider vinegar - your stomach will have enough acid to digest your food fully.
This problem with acid in your stomach is likely caused by the food all of us americans eat that is so bad for us.
I'd also suggest, on a day you have nowhere to go, drinking a tablespoon of epsom salts mixed in warm water, and laying on your left side for an hour. You need to do this on a day you'll be home because this will start the cleansing of your colons and you will be making several trips to the bathroom. Then, to get your stomach back to working order, use the apple cider vinegar ($4.99/bottle) and some digestive enzymes ($10.00/bottle - lasts 1 month) before each meal for a month.

The best thing ever invented is Underberg, made in Germany. I buy it from www.germandeli.com. This is a very old herbal remedy and works every time. comes in little bottles. It does contain alcohol to preserve the herbs. I usually drink it after a heavy meal and have no problems with indigestion then. I don't know how old you are. If you are a minor, then I would not recommend the Underberg because of its alcohol content, same if you are alcoholic. Another great aid is ginger. I cut up fresh ginger root into small pieces and steam them in hot, almost boiling water, make it a tea and drink it. If you don't have access to fresh ginger, the powdered variety works well too. Peppermint is my third choice. If you have fresh mint, chew on a few leaves or make a strong peppermint tea. Of course, avoiding the foods causing the indigestion would be recommended, but we can't always do that. At least not me.

need more details..heartburn? upset tummy?
For a simple cure-all try peppermint, the stronger the better. I find 1 or 2 Altoids will cure a mild to moderate hearburn within minutes. If you ate too much and have a tummy ache, try a shot or 2 of Jägermeister..it does help!

According to Louise Hay's book, Heal Your Body, the probable cause for indigestion is: Gut-level fear, dread, anxiety. Griping and grunting.
If this fits for you, the following affirmation may bring some relief:
I digest and assimilate all new experiences peacefully and joyously.

Do not eat the foods that cause indigestion. That's your body saying it does not like whatever it is u just put in your gullet.
You may like the food, but your body obviously does not, listen to your body, and you'll stop hurting.
