Chromosome is a DNA related term. They are the structure of DNA. When a woman gets pregnant, 26 chromosomes from a male, and 26 chromosomes from the female combine to make a DNA cell. Males have an XY structure in their chromosomes, females have an XX structure. This is how the sex of a baby can be decided and determined with new technology.. by testing if the Y chromosome appears in the baby's DNA.
