It is hard to say without knowing what you are looking for in a travel destination. Bali has beautiful sand beaches and nice resorts. You can have fun in the sun, sand and water.

If you prefer something more cosmopolitan you can visit Singapore, a clean modern efficient city state. Many people enjoy the food and some sights but not a lot to do unless you are interested in the action and discos, restaurants and bars at the Orchid Towers also known as Four floors of wh@res.

Laos isn't that great although I only entered Vientianne from the Friendship bridge starting in Nong khai on the Thai side. I think Malaysia is fascinating. Great food, a lot of sights, an entire country that can easily be traveled by inexpensive bus. It really is something out of the ordinary although it might seem similar to Thailand.

You need to say what you are looking for.

Because Bali has unique culture. People there are very warm, hospitable and nice..Besides it has many great places to visit.

Bali is an island, therefore it surrounded by beaches..And many are really beautiful and good for surfing or do watersports..Beach in Bali is not just KUTA which many traveller already aware..There are still many more like Dreamland which has white sand..

However, Bali is not just about beaches but also have place such as UBUD where you can experienced Bali's culture and arts..I heard you can learn traditional dance and some arts there as well..

If you love nightlife, many cool spots you can visit..

For me I like Bali because of the weather, the atmosphere, the people, the spot and because i can relax and have a peace of mind there..
I really like when i do paraceiling in place called Benoa. I can see the whole island from up there and it's really amazing..

Though there was a bombing incident..now Bali is safe place to go...

Hi,
since you didnt mention where will you go to in Thailand, I assume it is Bangkok. Actually, Thailand has a lot of beach area with superb beach, but in case you didnt go to places like K.Samui, Phuket and some other beach area...I highly recommend you to visit Bali. Vietnam and Malaysia has some nice beaches too...but less famous compare to Bali. Meaning most people choose Bali instead of one or two beach in the region for some reason. That makes this place more tourist-friendly compare to other.

Bali is very unique island, where you can find interesting art pieces, traditional dances, rich culture (sacred temples etc), great water sport, world-class hotels/resort (bvlgary hotel, ritz etc).
FYI, Bali is part of a country name Indonesia.

Enjoy your holiday!

well should ask yourself, WHY NOT? ;)

but I would suggest something like Laos, Vietnam, Malaysia, Singapore, or INDONESIA! (not Bali ^_^ ) unless you would say in other form like Kuching, Phnom Penh, or BALI? ^_^

I would say Bali is too crowded with tourists, I couldnt really relax holidaying in Bali unless relaxing in a luxurious hotel where they have their own private beach area or very cool pool but what is a vacation when you only stay in hotel right? ;) Yet Bali is worth to go to. Many things to see in Bali, from the art shops, art and cultural villages, nice tropical park/jungle where you can see many cute monkeys, very breath taking scenery of rice fields and mountains. Diving, snorkeling, surfing are just to mention some of the water activities you can have. Exotic smiles from local people, the friendliness, fresh air though can be too humid to most foreigners. Amazing performance of culture like Barong dance, Kecak dance, traditional musical instruments, and those very attractive temples! Oh my my, why not go to Bali then eh? ;)

To list more what to see in Bali in particular and Indonesia as a whole? would end up as me writing for a book ^_^

Singapore is great place to go as well. I love wondering around Singapore. They have a very very good International Airport. Famous restaurants and shopping center of Orchard road. Most of the people are Malay, Indonesian, Indian, Chinese which you can also find them in Malaysia and again Indonesia.

Singaporean, Malaysian, Indonesian, they are great and the places, the islands, etc etc? they are worth to go for a visit or two. Even staying for a month in either country wont feel enough for you :)

Laos and Vietnam are exotic too. Different cultures from Singapore, Indonesia, and Malaysia. They have authentic foods, places to visit. Totally differ languages from the Singaporean/Malaysian/Indonesian people.

So it's all up to you, where you really wanna go and again should really ask yourself "why not?!" ^_^

have fun travelling!

I don't know. Many people say that it's a paradise, but those tourists make everything just worse! They are turning Bali in some kind of a tourist nest, full of crime and other bad things, just like Thailand! There mustn't be too much tourists I say!

hi, first let me introduce you to Indonesia, it has about 17.000 Islands include Bali Island. If you want to visit all our tourists spots, probably you have to live here (as I do :)) or you have travel here for the rest of your life...yes, if you want to have a great and damn cheap shopping just go to Bandung, there are huge numbers of factory outlets, if you want to see Volcano nearby Bandung you can visit Tangkuban Perahu, then try volcanoes hot spring water at Ciater pools. Want to see our famous Borobudur temple, Buddhist, come to Jogja, want to see how unique are living in a full harmony, peace, believes, tradition and nature...come to Bali Island, and it isn't about it only! You can have a great shopping here too, wanderful paintings, wood carvings, silversmith's masterpieces, batik, stone carving, furniture, home accessories. a lot of choices! You wanna dive? There is a longlist of diving spots in Indonesia (Bunaken-Manado, Papua, Bali, Lombok, Flores, Java, etc.)
Now, I hope you won't say no more "Why Bali????"

I'm going to Bali in a few weeks for a long weekend. Beautiful beaches -- it is considered the original "paradise." Supposedly lots of single guys for the girls, and lots of single girls for the guys. It is supposedly the top vacation spot for single Australian women. I can't wait to find out!

I'm Balinese. The core of Balinese tourism is the Hindu culture and tradition that you will found very special.

But sure Bali also have the nice tropical beaches, scenic mountain and ancient historical sites.

If you love to party, you have hundreds of cool of options in Kuta area. But be careful with the terrorist there...They're not native Balinese, they're from other Island in Indonesia. Because native Balinese are Hindu. Don't go to Bali, becuz I could not guarantee your safety here bro...since now there's so many non-native Balinese Indonesian here...

Don't go to Laos and Vietnam because of the birds flu. Don't go to Thailand because of terrorist and birds flu. Don't go to Malaysia and Singapore, because the only thing you can do there is shopping (no culture, no nice tropical beaches, no scenic mountain, no ancient historical sites, no cool party).

Stay home...
