I broke my foot 3 years ago, why does it still hurt from time to time?

When I take the weight off of my foot I get a very sharp pain where the break was. It's worse in cold weather, is it likely to always be this way?

Sometimes when people fracture there bones they do get problems later on,pain,swelling,discomfort.If this dont ease go and see your gp and he will advise you if theres further treatment you can have.Yes the cold does aggravate your problem too i go through this to every winter and is horrid.I got told this will be like this for good as i also injured my ankle bck in the 1900s.Get medical advice if it contiues.Good Luck

I get a similar thing in my hand...
But i never got it looked at when I broke it so nothing was done...
When I got it checked out a few weeks ago, the doc said it would hurt and there was not much that could be done about it...
Maybe it's a similar situation with your foot?

I have heard that sort of thing from several people. Despite being healed, the area of the break aches from time-to time, and is worse in cold, damp weather.
There's also the likelihood that arthritis could set in later on.

depends on how old you are, 5 to 7 years. if your over 30 it will take longer
get and xray to make sure no fragments are lodged and need to be treated first
In the mean time it will indicate if rain is on the way

the nerve endings in your foot may have beed damaged which will cause pain from time to time, it also depends on what you may be doing ie if your on your feet all day it might trigger the pain to start

the cold i got attacted bytwo guys thet broke my leg my arm and smashed me with hammers and axes over the head so i get alot of pain.good luck
