Speaking as a man who has been happily married for 36 years, and the father of a son who has had 3 unsuccessful relationships, I would tend to say, no; most men do not want a marriage relationship.
Let me qualify that...
When I say "most," I have no data to back that up; just personal experience and reactions.
I truly believe that most single men enjoy having "loose shoes;" the freedom to date several women, or at least the freedom "from" being tied down to just one.
There are plenty of reasons for a single man to be wary these days, unless he's lucky enough to have found a woman who has a good compliment of personal traits, and one with whom he could live harmoniously.
On the other hand, I truely believe that women are more predisposed to a long term relationship (ie marriage) than men.
They are the child-bearers; not the men.
It is just more a part of a woman's psyche to seek a long term, stable relationship.
While I'm sure there are men who have a good heart, and who seek a long term relationship, I think that they are by nature more promiscuous than women.

As a Man, I really like being married to my wife. We have a daughter, and I couldn't imagine being in her life every day. So in that sense, I would say yes, men (at least this man) really wants marriage.
Of course the drawback is that I still find women attractive. I can't have sex with other women any more, and that is the downside to marriage.
But, the upside is much greater than the downside.

they only think they do... but if they do... why do us men always want to have sex with other women? I guess when we are old we want to have someone with us... however when we are young... we don't really want marriage... we think we do... because that is what we see most people do... we really want to be free and trying to spread our seed around... that's the instinct.

Yes, I believe most men do, for a variety of reasons. They don't want to be alone. They may want someone to take care of them (sorry to say but many men are just large children). They start feeling their mortality and want children. They want someone to love them unconditionally. They want to take care of someone besides themselves. They want more out of life than just the self-centered focus of being single.
